Applications Due for Leadership Perryton XI

The application deadline for this year’s Leadership Perryton program is just around the corner on July 24! Started in 2003, Leadership Perryton has been molding individuals into leaders. A total of 217 people have graduated from Leadership Perryton, and 76 businesses or individuals have sponsored a participant.

The unique program is designed to include information that would otherwise be difficult for participants to find. The course also teaches how to apply the information to different workplaces; how to work as a team, set goals, and communicate; how to deal with stress; how to improve customer service; and various other topics.

Participants will gain many opportunities and skills while in Leadership Perryton, including the following:

  • Meeting new people and learning new things about the community
  • Taking a self-analysis to learn more about themselves and gain self-confidence
  • Improving communication skills and relationships
  • Becoming a motivated employee with greater confidence and more skills and tools

This Year’s Program
This year’s Leadership Perryton starts with an orientation at noon on August 1 to meet the class and receive more information on the year ahead. From September 15 to 17, a required retreat will be held at Ceta Canyon Camp. Transportation from Perryton will be provided. One Friday a month from October to May, the class will meet from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. where they will hear from a nationally known speaker and tour a local business.

The cost to participate is $625 and needs to be paid by September. The participant or his/her sponsoring business may pay. Leadership Perryton is not limited to people in Ochiltree County. If a business or organization does business or provides services in the county or if the employee lives in the county, he or she can participate.

The application deadline is July 24. Applications can be picked up at the Chamber of Commerce or the CDC or can be printed from this link.
