40th Annual Oil Patch Golf Tournament Held This Week

This week will mark the 40th anniversary of Perryton’s Oil Patch Golf Tournament. Held on July 12, 13, and 14 at the Perryton Municipal Golf Course, this year’s tournament is dedicated to Charles and JoAnne Pride, founders of Pride Well Service. A dedication presentation will be held for JoAnne and her late husband at a banquet Saturday evening.

More than $28,000 in prizes will be awarded for the Friday and Saturday tournament. In addition, $6,000 in prizes—including a $2,000 minimum guaranteed first-place prize—will be awarded for Sunday’s play.

Friday will include 24 teams, with tee off beginning at 1 p.m.; the competition will be a two-person horse race. Friday will also include three long-drive contests—one for any golfer, one for players over 50 years old, and one for women.

Tee off will begin at 7 a.m. for 36 teams and at 1:30 p.m. for an additional 36 teams on Saturday. A technical representative with state-of-the-art equipment from TaylorMade will also be on hand Saturday. On Sunday, 28 teams will play.
