Annual Oil Patch Golf Tournament Held This Week

This week, the 41st-annual Oil Patch Golf Tournament will take place, beginning on Friday the 11th and concluding on Sunday the 13th at the Perryton Golf Club. The 2014 tournament is dedicated to the late Rodney Brewer.

There will be $28,000 in prizes for Friday and Saturday players and $6,000 in prizes on Sunday, with a minimum guaranteed $2,000 prize for first place. The tournament will kick off Friday with a 12:30 p.m. tee time. The longest drive competition will begin when the final team leaves hole 1, and the horse race will begin when the final team leaves hole 2 (most likely between 6 and 7 p.m.).

The Perryton Club will host festivities on Friday evening. Food and drinks will be available, and at 8 p.m., the Shane Smith Band will perform at the club. There’s a $5 cover charge for the concert.

Saturday’s tee times are scheduled for 7 a.m. and 1:45 p.m. The dinner and awards banquet will begin at 6 p.m. at the club. At that time, there will be a dedication presentation, and lifetime achievement and other awards and prizes will be given. The Calcutta will follow the banquet. Sunday’s teams will tee off at 8:30 a.m.
